Over the past month, I was able to follow up on some projects I have been wanting to do for quite a while. Part of that was also to utilize the footage I shot during the REPICORE feedback trip earlier this year. Besides spending a few weeks on Fiji, I also had a few days on Samoa and the Solomon Islands, which I particularly liked.
After arriving in Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands I flew on to Munda where I spent the coming days together with Dr. Akuila Cakacaka and Dr. Janne Rohe, both members of the REPICORE project. While and in-between community visits I shot a lot of footage that didn’t make it into the REPICORE movie (which you can watch here if you haven’t done it yet).
I was truly amazed by this part of the world: the culture, the landscape, the wildlife, the oceans.. all of it seemed so pristine and I am already playing with a few ideas to get back to this Pacific island jewel.
For now sit back, relax and dive into the Solomon Islands with me!
